The Bowery Midway was lined with amusement arcades, food, rides,
vaudeville and later silent movie picture shows.
Louis Stauch opened his restaurant and dance hall in 1904
Prior to 1903 the Bowery was a ramshackle of over 250 buildings.
And then one of the many great fires to hit coney flattened the area.
The postcard image above is of The Bowery area after being rebuilt in 1904.
